Along the rim of the plate, the ornamental motifs of the painting frame mutate into barcode-like incisions, encircling the edge — resembling both a commodity label and an empty aperture. The barcode, as a symbol of contemporary consumption and identity coding, replaces the "refined" language of traditional decoration, suggesting that the consumption of art and culture has been systematically quantified and archived. The plate is no longer a vessel but an encoded frame: one believes they are digesting, when in fact they are merely being scanned.
